Rec Tec 680 Review – After 200 Hours of Cook Time
We purchased the RT-680 a few months ago and have roughly 200 hours of cook time on it. We’ve cooked everything from briskets, boston butts, burgers, chicken, pork belly, and so much more. Since we’ve had so many cooks on the Rec Tec 680, we thought now would be a great time to provide an honest review and our thoughts on its performance.

I’m on the market for a pellet grill and am leaning toward the Rec Tec. All of the negative reviews say their parts wear out quickly. Given that this question is 3 months after this initial review, is there any truth to it? Are you still enjoying the 680?
You did a great job on the video. I like the beginning taken with I’m guessing, a drone. I almost bought the Rec Tec, but I got the Grills Grills SIlverbac. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. I gotta say that the Rec Tec does look waaay cool. Thanks for the post.
Great review, guys! Sounds like those guys at Rec Tec know what they are doing.
Also, you guys are adorable. Lol.
I’m actually looking to purchase a pellet grill and this model you have is a front runner! Tfs! New follower here!
Great review, we love the Rec Tec, we have both the 680 and the mini….we do a ton videos on them
Thank you for your video
I have a mini. Had a major problem with it the inside pealed off. There customer service got me a replacement. The customer service seems like they mean well but mildly incompetent. With the warm weather coming I hope for no further problems.
Good review. I almost buy a rec tec but half the price i got a pit boss austin xl and can sear steaks.
Had Rec Tec 680 for over a year know still looks great and works great. Not much compares to the price & quality. Makes cooking awesome food way too easy!
I live 2 hours from RecTec’s warehouse in Augusta, and I have to say that I was on the fence about a few other grills, and your comment about lifting the lid was exactly the thing that sold me on the 680. Customer service is second to none. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another should mine go up in flames.
Just stumbled on your channel and I’m happy I did. Loved the review and loved the honesty. Cheers.
I have a rectec mini but im gonna buy the new trailblazer stainless steal wiifii control cant wait
Just curious, how thick is the metal on this Rec Tec? Is it as thick as the Yoder YS640…I believe Yoder’s is 10 gauge.
