Barrel Boy Barbecue – How to build an Oil Drum Barrel BBQ

Ever wanted to make your own BBQ that can fulfil all your BBQ needs?
Well it’s easier than you think (with the right tools) and the results will not only give you great BBQin’ capability but the satisfaction of building something that brings a huge amount of pleasure and excitement to your friends and family. As well as all this you’ll learn some pretty handy DIY and concept design skills in the process.

Barrel Boy was an idea made into reality. There is no definitive way to build an Oil Barrel BBQ, this is our design and build.

Winner of a video, I have been researching “how to grill bbq” for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried – Ariafan Barbecue Babassu – (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my neighbour got cool results with it.

I like lining the bottom with half thickness firebrick, including the lower sides. You’ll need to do some cutting with the angle grinder but its well worth it.

love the hard work but dang save ur self some work using a cut off wheel. and work on those welds! great end product though

you could of lest the paint on, and let it burn off first time then the paint would flake off or come off easier so you can paint with the high temp stuff

get yourself a sandbaster man geez man..the money u spend on sanding discs and the time you have to put into grinding that thing! your better off buying a compressor and and a sandblaster but make sure you get a decent compressor or you’ll waste your time.
